The morning is a slight regret that we leave our beautiful hotel at Uxmal. After closing our bags and eaten breakfast XXL (we're getting used to it), we headed back on foot to the site of Uxmal we had already discovered in "sound and light."
site, we visit again under a blue sky full, magifique is its size, its conservation, wealth ... Our pale faces are still under strain, like the thighs and legs of certain (e) s: different places are indeed at different step-downs. We climb the stairs, we descended, we attack a pyramid and then another ... A visit even more exciting as shown in our guide are still relevant and that we again visited the whole site in a relative calm since most groups come to 11h/12h.
The first big surprise this week is our lunch (actually 14h) in a cantina in Merida! What atmosphere! The concept is simple: large tables and a cocktail / drinks. It places an order and servers bring a lot of little things to eat and quite spicy so that we can control other drinks ... while the music with two bands that play live and alternate every hour. We even had the right to a superset of the "loca" by Shakira and a bizarre version of a song Florent Pagny ... In any event a unique and very warm ... A concept to resume here!
So we must say here that, contrary to our previous destinations, Merida, it is not at all the country! In fact, it is a city of 1.5 million inhabitants! From the cantina to the hotel Located in downtown, we had to take over a half hour trip, especially since traffic is very dense ... and the roads are not so large as that! In addition, the hotel has a style quite international, the antithesis of the other two. However this style also has its charm: Our room has two TVs, a lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom of course! Downstairs, the dining room offers a huge dinner ...
