Letter To Daughter On Confirmation

Evoking the end of the films is (sometimes) a sacrilege should not commit. The word is not too hard to view the latest images of Fire . In a dramatic power uplifting, the film follows two stories in parallel: the death of Nawal Marwan, his two children, Jane and Simon, are awarded two envelopes: one for their father died officially at war and the other to their brother they never knew existed. Jeanne immediately hand back the origins of his mother. Decades earlier, we follow the chaotic journey of this woman who will pay high price for his commitment.

Adapted from the play by Wajdi Mouwad, the film quickly forget its theatrical origins. The Quebecois director Dennis Villeneuve has remained faithful to the text while giving it a real cinematic scope. From the first sequence, tense, filmmaker picks bruised faces who discover that their mother was a stranger to them. We do indeed know almost nothing of their relationship, the film focusing on the return to the past and it will cause upheaval.

Located in a Middle East Undetermined (but we think many in Lebanon), Dennis Villeneuve for these films with smooth strokes and, more and more violent. In a terrifying performance in a bus to "stay" in a prison where the hell has its inputs, Nawal will stand there with determination and rage that does not leave. Caught in a conflict that does not measure all the consequences, it will fall prey to the brutality of men singing. An idea as cruel as poetic to say all the suffering that these women experienced.

Melissa Desormeaux-Poulin and Maxim Gaudette

one voltage rises to a crescendo, the filmmaker knows how to maintain breaks welcome, and the horror is palpable when he filmed, instead of the rhetoric, the brother and sister in a swimming pool, beautiful metaphor of being overwhelmed by what they discover.

Without revealing nothing, the outcome of this story gives it an undeniable tragic dimension. This outcome, incredible, puts the film in a different prospect and lets break a reservation. Making the unbelievable true, Dennis Villeneuve appeared to be reached until it plunges back into the story and it may contain some flaws. But the word of criticism must stop if there is not that the pleasure of (future) audience is finally destroyed.
